Barossa Craft Fair

We spent the day in Tanunda at the Barossa Craft Fair. This is an annual event we do. It is the start of my lead up to Christmas. So I will be decorating the shop over the next few days.
We left early and drove into the fog. It was quite eerie. The sun should have been in our eyes but it was total blocked out until we were 10 minutes from Tanunda and we drove out of it. I was not driving so I was able to take these photos.

Some shots of my stand while we putting the finishing touches on it.

Some close ups of some of products we had on offer.

Plus some English paper piecing demonstration some Round We Go blocks and fussy cutting demonstrations.

I wish we were able to take more pictures but we were busy so the actions shot did not happen. This fair is always a good event and is our last event for this year. Time to continue with my 2018 plans. I have some great ideas I want to tackle in 2018. It looks like 2018 is going to be a blast.

The Barossa Craft Fair is Coming

There is a week before the Barossa Craft Fair and it is now official I am behind the 8 ball with 2 very important jobs.  First is this wolf wall hanging that needs to be delivered finished and the display board with all my round blocks for the English Paper Piecing demo. The wall hanging is pieced and needs to be quilted and bound.

The Demo board still needs more round blocks to fill it and I need to remove the remaining Octagons that are still on it. Which reminds me they need to be sewn into a quilt top soon, maybe over the Christmas break.

I can say I have been busy so it's not like I have been lazy or out partying.  I always have my special Christmas present offer which is Spend $30 or more on my stall and receive a Christmas present. This does take a lot of work.

Plus this year I have a stack of shop samples that are no longer needed and I thought they would make a great addition to the stall as they would make great gifts for those people who aren't in to sewing and are out doing their Christmas shopping. There is cushions, quilts, table runners and a few other items.

Of course I have the 2018 Quilter's Companion diary in stock which will be on special at the Fair too.

Just maybe there maybe something else on offer but you may need to attend to get the scoop of that one.

Barossa Craft Fair & Market Round Up

Yesterday we were trading at the Barossa Craft Fair & Market. This is an annual event and generally our last event of the year. So we like to go out with a bang. We have a good spot so you can't miss us as you enter. It was a day filled with fun, shopping, learning and socializing, topped with lots of sales. I was doing some Inklingo demo's introducing everyone to printing their shapes onto their fabrics, eliminating the need for templates. I will need to do some new samples for next year's events program. Ideas were running through my head on how I can do it better for next time and what else I can show them.  We had a some new products to share. Mainly our new Quick Quilts range, 4 designs to choose from to start with. There is Thomas the Tank Engine, Busy Builders, Surprise Birthday and Polka Dot Pond Friends. They come with all the fabric and basic instructions.

Di and her team of helpers did a stunning job arranging and organising the event. People don't realise how much goes into running an event like this. Everyone need to pitch in and help and do their part to make an event like this successful.  So a big thank you to them from us.

These lights are a curse to me. I bought these lights 3 years ago for this event. That year I forgot them completely, left them on my desk. Last year I remembered to take them but forget the batteries for them so I got 1 set out and then realised what I had done. Well this year I made sure I had them with the batteries in my bag. Guess what I totally forgot them and it wasn't until Sunday morning that it hit me that I forget these lights. I can't believe I did that.  Maybe next year I will use them. I alway forget something but normally I forget to bring it, not have it in my bag and not use it.
I might have to hang them in the shop, just to use them.

Barossa Craft Fair & Market

On Saturday we spent the day in Tanunda, South Australia at the Barossa Craft Fair & Market. At this time of the year there is alway a good chance of hot weather. That is what we had this year 35 degree and in the show hall I think it was a touch warmer. It is basically a tin shed.
This is an event we have traded at for a long time and I have seen a lot of changes over the years but Di and her team do a brilliant job behind the scenes to keep this event marching on since they took over the running of this event. This year I agree to do some demonstrating on the English Paper piecing technique which was the technique I used in my Cynthia's Flower Garden Quilt. I think I was a little shaky at the start but by the afternoon I was going great (I hope). There is a few things I need to work on next time I do this.  It was a shame we forgot the rod for the frame so I could hang My Cynthia's Flower Garden quilt up behind the demo area we did improvise with my other  smaller hexagon quilt hanging over the uprights and my flower garden went over the table.

Sorry I didn't take more photos as I was busy with the demonstrating ( in other words talking.).

New Kit in the Making

This is what I have been working on today. Here is the final stage of a new kit featuring English Paper Piecing.

These kits are a great introduction to English Paper piecing if you haven't tried it before or would be a great quick and easy project for gift giving, the home, office etc. I'm not going to show you the finished project here today as we will be releasing this kit at the Barossa Craft Fair & Market on the 29th November at the Tanunda Show Hall, Tanunda, South Australia.
I will be doing some demonstrations of this technique during the day, so if you are new this will be very helpful to get you started.
You will have to wait to see it, but we will be releasing the pattern for my Cynthia's Flower Garden Quilt also and as I have posted a picture before and I have quilters waiting on this release. Sorry for the delay. Here is what it looks like, just in case you haven't seen it.

Too much to do and not enough time to do everything that needed to be done.
These patterns and kits will be available online at Cynthia's Ark on the 29th November and at the Barossa Craft Fair & Market.
