Messy Times

I tell you things  are getting out of hand and getting messy around here. I probably have too many things on the go. Plus with all this self isolation going on, it has ruined our plans for this week. We were suppose to be away in Burra at Sew Delightful Quilting Rereat sewing up a storm. We had some workshop samples to work on and some fun for ourselves planned. So we are all at home being good.
Instead I have taken over the empty classroom and set myself to work on some of the projects that I need to work on.
I have been working on 3 projects. Two are connected as they are the same block but different sizes. This will be a new Cynthia's Ark design once I am happy with it. The large version is ready to go to Valerie (House of Valerie) for quilting. I have used Sue Daley's Paper Daisies collection for this one. So I will be able to kit this one up in a couple of colourways. The pink version(pictured) and a blue version.
The blocks below are the same as above but a lot smaller.

On the other side of the table I have been working on these triangle blocks as part of my Quiltworx projects.
I am halfway through the blocks, only another 24 to go.

One Monthly Goal- April's Finish

We have survived April. The question is did we complete our goals or were we side tracked?  Check out my goal for April here.

More binding happening. I start with the charity quilt binding as it had been sewn on to the quilt already. so as far as I was concerned I was halfway through before I started.
Done.

My Fractured Paintbox was my next task. I hadn't even decided on the binding fabric yet. In the end I  used the charcoal grey fabric that I had used in the quilt. I got it ready and got to sew it on during our Project Uninterrupted Pajama Party which was held on Zoom. All of us in our sewing spaces at home but together via the internet. It was good to catch up with everyone who joined in.
So I spent some evenings finishing the binding off and I can mark this one off my list.

I have linked post with Elm Street Quilt post, so pop over and check out how everyone did on their goals.

Paradise in Bloom Update

With all the craziness going on in the world, I have been having trouble focusing. I have been feeling I am in a bumper car, bouncing from one thing to another. Even sewing hasn't helped much. I did some of my Paradise in Bloom homework over Easter.

I am using some interesting fabrics from Robert Kaufman to go with my batiks this time. They have come Sky by.   The range gives you a graduate sky colouring. I hope it will achieve the effect I am looking for.
When I got to this stage I had to lay out what I had, so I could double check the shading for the two sections I needed to cut.
I am very happy how well it is coming out.
Some more homework yet to be done. The flowers to go in these baskets.

Scrap Everything and Sew Blog hop

Welcome to my day on the Scrap Everything and Sew blog hop. Normally I won't sign up for a blog hop that ran this week of the year, but when I got Pat's invite stating she was host a blog hop on this week due to her travel plans being cancelled, it got me thinking mine might get cancelled. Believe it or not, that is exactly what happened. Normally this week I  am flat out getting ready for the Laura Folk Fair, an event we have done for 18 years I think. It was a big blow to see it cancelled but we can't do anything about. So I sent Pat an email count me in. A big thank you to Pat (Lemon Tree Snippets) for hosting us.
Here is the full schedule, so pop over and see what everyone has beeen working on.

Now I am here to share my scrappy project.
Out came one of the scrap boxes. I had an idea but needed to check the scrap boxes for colour selections. I was after reds, pinks, yellow and neutrals. Reds and pinks not a problem. Only a few bits of yellow, but I didn't need much, The neutrals had to come from the stash more than the scrap boxes, not enough in the scrap boxes. There was some small cuts in the stash to use.

I created my block in EQ7 (Yes I am behind the times. I am haven't upgraded to EQ8 yet, but it will happen now I have the new laptop.)
Nothing too hard. I have plenty of hard stuff to do, I don't need more.
I had a table runner in mind. I finished my blocks  and I still have a stack of cut pieces to sew. I think I got carried away with the cutting.

Once my blocks were made, I off set the blocks by adding a piece to one side of each block. Then turned every second block.
Once sewn together it looks like this.

I got to this stage and love the look so much, my original table runner idea has gone out the window. I will be making more blocks and there will be a quilt when I am done with them.

I hope you have enjoy visiting today and once I have finished this project I will make this pattern available.

One Monthly Goal -April's Goal

With everything so messed up at the moment, I am not sure what to tackle this month. It's not like I am short on projects, but what one do I want to work on.

Can you see the quilting done by Valerie from Houses of Valerie. She does a fantastic job every time I send her a quilt to be quilted.

In the end I am going to stay on binding, there is another 2 charity quilt that needs binding and my Fractured Paintbox needs binding too. So here comes a few more finished project by the end of April.

I have linked my post up with Elm Street Quilt goal post, so pop over and check out what everyone is working on or join in the fun.
