Here we are gathered together around for the Color it Red Blog Hop. Thanks to Carol from Just Let Me Quilt for hosts us. Red is the natural colour for February as Valentine Day is in it and for me in South Australia it is Summer so we often have scorching hot days. So I was thinking I may need a colour themed wall hanging I could hang out for the month of February. Hearts were first to pop in to my mind for the project but I found a couple of red and white prints in my stash that was screaming out to me to use. So for some unknown reason the hearts went out the window and I ended up with this simply layout with the two fabrics.
A close up of the two fabrics. Yes only two fabrics cut into 3 inch squares. Why don't I have more of that red stripe in my stash? That's right I have used it a couple times now.
Then I added a small red border to the top and bottom from the red stipe cut the other way, followed by a piece of the red and white print larger piece at the top and a smaller piece at the bottom.
More red and white on the back some simple quilting hanging sleeve and binding to complete my latest wall hanging.
All the fabrics came from my stash, I don't quite believe I had that much red in my stash but I got there. It's quick and easy project to make and you could make a few different one to hang at different times of the year.
Here is the list for the whole blog hop. So pop around and say hello and check out what everyone has made.

Nice red quilt! I’d have never guessed that was only 2 fabrics
A wonderful project using only two fabrics!
Very nice! It looks like quite a few fabrics, so that's a great effect.
Wow that striped fabric is amazing. Great hanging and wonderful use of your stash. Isn't that a great feeling.
Nice wall hanging! I like the way you put a larger piece of the print at the top to feature it better. Thanks for sharing!
What a sweet wall hanging in those beautiful red fabrics! I love that you were able to use your stash for this little pretty. Thanks for sharing!
Great project, hard to believe it is 2 fabrics! Great work!
Stash busters are the best. This red-hot quilt is just too cool! Hopefully it will bring some cool weather your way soon too.
Great project Cynthia, I would never have guessed that was only 2 fabrics, but I do love that main print..such fun!!
Love the fabrics you've used. You've made a very sweet wall quilt. I bet it makes you smile every time you walk by it.

Enjoy your new wall hanging made for the Color it Red Blog Hop!!
Well done on such a pretty wallhanging. I like the idea of making "seasonal" ones.
Love your wall hanging! I really like fabric that has writing in the design. The piece you used for the top with the word "Lovely" works great! Thank you so much for sharing. Stay cool in your Australian heat!
Enjoy your "heartless" lovely red wall hanging … very nicely done! This way you can hang it to enjoy for a longer time! I love it. Thanks for joining in the hop & sharing your creativity. Cheers to being cool, from a quilter in cold Canada.
Gorgeous red fabrics. Like your wall hanging.
Great Project! Love the different shades of red!
"Lovely" is your quilt with all it's red and white. That's a perfect name for the quilt - lovely or loverly!!
Hi Cynthia, your red wall hanging looks fantastic. It's amazing what we can find in our stash that we may have forgotten we'd bought.
I would never have guessed that your quilt has just two fabrics! That stripe is fabulous. Thanks for sharing!
Your quilt is lovely. It's always wonderful to use stash fabric.
Cute!
As a friend of mine would say, that's a cute little clove of garlic! What a nice wallhanging that will fit almost anywhere.
Very sweet use of red scraps
Great use of red scraps!
I am really loving those fabrics!
This is great! I thought there was some embroidery at first until I saw your inspired use of the fabric. I like the fussy cut delightful!
