One Monthly Goal- May's Report

I set myself an easy goal for May as I have been struggling recently. Click here to visit that post.

I only had to finish the binding on my Fire Island Hosta and with a few days left in the month I got it done. Such a light coloured quilt and black cats are not a good combination
Here it is hanging on my stand at the Craft Alive Fair in Mount Gambier.

Sorry there is a few things in the way. At least it is done.
I have linked this post up with Elm Street Quilts post, so pop over and have a look.

One Monthly Goal -May's Goal

I was missing for part of March and all of April. Just struggling with life, so I took a step back but I need to get back in to it. So this month goal is to finish the binding on my Fire Island Hosta quilt. I thought this would have been done already, but it hasn't. Part of the reason every time I pull it out to work on it a black cat (we won't mention names Cisco and Poncho) want to claim it for themselves. As you can see black cat and this quilt are not compatible.

A close up of the beautiful quilting done by my friend Valerie Slater from the House of Valerie.

This is most likely the whitest quilt I have ever made. I say white but it is not a true white with hints of colour through it. You can just see it in the close up
I have linked my post up with Elm Street Quilts as part of the One Monthly Goal, so pop over and check out what we are all working on this month.

January's One Monthly Goal Completed

Here we are at the end of January already and it is time to link our completed goal for January's One Monthly Goal.
I have been working on my Fire Island Hosta quilt top. I wanted to get the top finished ready for quilting. Here is my original post on it.

Yes I can show you all the top is all together with the mitred borders which I did wonder if I needed to do. Not a fan of mitred borders but they did work out in the end, I only had to unpick one corner and fix it.
So now it is off to be quilted. Too big and time poor for me to quilt it. Though I was tempted.

I have linked my post with Elm Street Quilts post so pop over and check out all the completed goals for January. Don't be shy and join us in February.

Fire Island Hosta Workshop

On Sunday we had Elizabeth Chadwick in store for part 2 of our Fire Island Hosta Quilt. It was a busy day there was a lot to get through, so we can continue on our own and finish our quilts. Some parts are more challenging than others but with Elizabeth's guidance we are making good progress on our quilts.

Some progress pictures on the quilts. They are all going to be stunning when we finish them.

I will keep you all updated on our progress, well at least my progress.

Fire Island Hosta Quilt Progress Update.

I have been doing some work towards my quilt during the evening time. As Elizabeth had set us homework I feel I should lead by example and get the homework done. So I have set myself 30 minutes in the evenings if I have caught up on the days job to make some progress on the homework.
So far I have made progress.

I have completed the 8 sections for the pieced leaves, but there is still the other 4 leaves to complete. Plus some more pieced sections have to be cut and pieced.
Until Next Time
