Q4 Finish Along Results

The end of December is here and it is time to round up those finished projects that I set myself to completed by the end of December for th 2017 Finish Along.
I had to look back to my original post to remind myself what I had set myself as I could only remember the dresden plate table runner which I have not completed I did applique the circles on but I have been stuck on the border fabrics.
Project #3 on the list is ready for quilting but I have misplaced it since I used it as a sample project at the July fair. I was sure it would turn up when I did the Tanunda Fair thinking it was stashed in one of the craft fair boxes but I was wrong. Now I am worried what has happened to it.
Considering all the projects were small projects you would of thought I would have completed more than 1 from the list but no, not me. I have managed to side track myself and only completed 1 project. In 2018 I think I will be selecting 1 or 2 projects in hope that something more may get completed. My success rate on completing projects and crossing them off my list during 2017 has be poor.

With that all said there was one project completed and it was the little sample table runner for our Round We Go Block of the Month in a different colourway. I was finishing the quilting at the start of Quarter 4.
So here it is completed.

I have linked up with She Can Quilts so pop over and see how everyone else did with their finishes.

Q4 Finish Along Goals

It is time to set our goals for the last quarter of the year. The last quarter was a total bust. So some of last quarter's projects have made this list. Let's hope I can complete some of these projects and finish the year on a good note.

Here goes my list.

The first project is this Dresden plate table runner. This one was only blocks last quarter so there was some progress but  not enough.Just need to do the circles for the centres and I will be ready to pin and quilt it.

The second project is another table runner. I quilted this one over the weekend so it is ready for binding.

What the table runner looks like before I quilted it..

Project #3 is this one. Once I find it. I was looking for it yesterday because I had a piece of backing fabric left over from another project which I thought would work for it.  It has been sewn together and the borders added. Ready for pinning and quilting.

Project #4 is these leaf placemats. As you can see I have started the first one. That means I have 3 and a half to go. I think everyone else from the group has finished theirs or are nearly finished. I need to catch up. This is a technique I want to explore more.

I have linked my post up with  She Can Quilt, so pop over and check out what everyone is working on. .

Finish Along Q3 List

It is time to make our third quarter list of projects to finish. I have selected a mix of small projects for this quarter.

#1 This one need to be finished, it is the closest to being finished with a little more quilting needed and binding.

#2 is the sample table runner from Michelle Yeo Victorian Love quilt. The blocks are made and sewn together ready for borders, quilting and binding.

#3 Red and blue Dresden plate table runner well maybe it will be a table runner it may become a quilt yet. It started as a table runner but I am loved it so I don't want to stop.

#4 A little travel companion bag that just needs the binding once I work out how it goes on.

The one thing I have noticed all the projects I am trying to finish are new projects which means my Project Uninterrupted (unfinished projects list) is not being touched. So here is
#5 because I need something from that list here if I am going to ever finish something off that list
I need to finish this round and then the next part squares the quilt out. It is English paper piecing so I am not sure how far I will get but I need to see some progress at least.

I have linked this post up with She can Quilt and everyone else who has made a list of projects to finish. Pop over and have a look at what other projects are being worked on this quarter and maybe you will join us.

A Finish is a Finish unless it is not Totally Finished.

Here we are at the end of June already. This was the project I chose to finish this month. A little project as time was short and boy did I leave my run late.

All I had to do was quilt it and bind it, sounds simply for a table runner.  Somehow time just flew by and it was the third weekend of June before I sat down at the machine to quilt it. Once quilted I had to pick a fabric to bind it with and that seems like a problem as I only had more of the cream background fabric and the border fabric. So it has not been finished. Another failure on a total finish but at least it is quilted. That counts it, doesn't it? It makes it one step closer to being completely finished.

Finish Along Q2 Results

We are halfway through the year and and come to the end of our second quarter of finishes. Now this quarter I had 3 projects on my list and I can say I have had 2 finishes.
They were my Sands of Time hourglass quilt which I love.

The other one was my Handmade-Lucky quilt from Alize Fabrics sew along last year which I love to.
Two totally different colour palettes. One light and the other one dark. A matching pair so to speak.
It is one of the great things about quilting the colours and variety of fabrics we have to select from. I know sometimes there is too much to choose from but it almost guarantees you will find something you like. The third project will have to be added to next quarter list.

I have linked this post up to She Can Quilt blog so pop over and check out some of the other projects that have been finished and maybe you will be tempted to join us in the next quarter of the Finish Along.

2017 Finish Along Q2

Well what can I say!  The First quarter was a total wipe out. Nothing got finished. So the list is not in a good way, especially with me thinking about starting new project.

So we will start with this one. It is the one I thought would have been easily finished but no it is still here. It is closer to been finished than a the start of the year. So fingers crossed it gets completed this time. I did sew the binding on. It just needs the hand stitching to be completed.

2. My Sands of Time Hourglass quilt. This one I picked up from being quilted last week so it is ready for the binding to be made.

3. Turning these 3 blocks into table runner I think.

That is all I am willing to add to my list this quarter.
Check out what others have chosen to work on this quarter. I bet there will be plenty of interesting projects to see over on She can Quilt

2017 Finish Along Q1 list

It is time to my our first list of 2017 for the 2017 Finish Along.
My  Victorian Fling quilt tops this list as it is the closest to finishing. Only the binding to do.
What else to put on this. I think my Hourglass Quilt makes this list. The top is completed. So pinning, quilting and binding to do.

My Sew It Together quilt which I will drop off for quilting and then I can just worry about the binding.

My star wall hanging. It needs the star to be pieced and then applique to it background fabric. It is English paper pieced. So there is some work to go on this one.
Sorry no pictures at this stage.

Lastly my Forget Me Not quilt. Another English Paper piecing project larger than the Star project but I am three quarters through the top. I would love to see this one at the quilting stage by the end of this quarter.  Let's see how I go.
I am linking this post with She can quilt so you can check out what everyone else is working on.
