2019 Finish Along 1st Quarter

This year I am going to try doing this slightly different from previous years where I would post a number of projects to complete during the quarter. So if I didn't feel like work on one I could work on another but that just meant I didn't work to complete anything. I would do little bits of projects but not complete anything. So this year the plan will be I am only going to post 1 project for each quarter. Fingers crossed I will have four finished projects by the end of the year.
I think I will try and select some of my long term unfinished projects too. The list is too long.
So for the first quarter I am going to be working on this one which is really two projects. My Bitty blocks which is #4 on my unfinished projects and #13 My Signature Blocks from a swap I was in.

I am going to turn these piles of blocks in to a quilt by the end of the quarter. It will not be a big quilt as most of the blocks are only around 3" in size but we will see what it becomes over the quarter.

2018- Finish Along Q3

It is time to set our project goals for the three quarter of the 2018 Finish Along. I have to say this may look familiar. The projects from last quarter are here topping the list.

Project #1 - I have my Hearts and Soul sampler quilt to complete. I want to say this is a sure bet as it has a deadline which is just before the end of the third quarter. It is ready for quilting. I have special plans for it using the Westalee Rulers.

Project #2 - Then we get to my Allietare quilt ready for pinning and quilting and the other left over from last quarter.

Project #3 - This table runner that has been missing for nearly 12 months. It is pinned ready for quilting. I may do this one first as I know what I am quilting on it already. I plan to use the Westalee honeycomb ruler on it.

Project #4 - This is where I may fall down a hole but the pile of quilting is growing. How I am not sure as I haven't ready had time to do much piecing but here is another one ready for quilting. This Water Garden Quilt needs quilting. Now I didn't pieced it my friend Shelly did and I said I would quilt, as she pieced it for me. So more Westalee ruler work planned for this one.

2018 Finish Along Q2 Projects.

We have reach the second quarter of this year Finish Along. Now I have really looked hard for these projects, as time may be an issue with April and May being busy.

Only one from last quarter has made this list, that is my Allietare quilt which is ready for pinning and quilting since the beginning of the year.

 2. Is my Desert Sky quilt which is ready for borders than quilting.

 3. Is My Hearts and Soul panel quilt which is a large panel with a border around it. Simple enough when you need a very quick present. It is also ready for pinning and quilting.

I have select these project in hope that I can have a bit of production line sewing going on. Borders on my Desert Sky sewn on then a major pinning session followed the quilting. Leaving the binding to the end.

2018 Finish Along Q1 Projects

It's the first quarter of the 2018 Finish Along. It is time to select our project for the first quarter. What to select from my long list of unfinished projects?
Do I select lots of projects to push myself or do I select 1-2 project s only?

Project #1.

 My Allietare quilt from 2015. I finally got the top together over my Christmas break so my plan is to quilt it and bind it in this quarter.

 Project #2 is a Scrappy quilt with these little blocks. Still more rows to go but the blocks are all under 4" in size so it wouldn't be a large project, she says. This one may take me a while.

Project #3 is my Framed Up quilt, it is currently off being quilted so when I get it back it will only need the binding done.

Q4 Finish Along Results

The end of December is here and it is time to round up those finished projects that I set myself to completed by the end of December for th 2017 Finish Along.
I had to look back to my original post to remind myself what I had set myself as I could only remember the dresden plate table runner which I have not completed I did applique the circles on but I have been stuck on the border fabrics.
Project #3 on the list is ready for quilting but I have misplaced it since I used it as a sample project at the July fair. I was sure it would turn up when I did the Tanunda Fair thinking it was stashed in one of the craft fair boxes but I was wrong. Now I am worried what has happened to it.
 Considering all the projects were small projects you would of thought I would have completed more than 1 from the list but no, not me. I have managed to side track myself and only completed 1 project. In 2018 I think I will be selecting 1 or 2 projects in hope that something more may get completed. My success rate on completing projects and crossing them off my list during 2017 has be poor.

With that all said there was one project completed and it was the little sample table runner for our Round We Go Block of the Month in a different colourway. I was finishing the quilting at the start of Quarter 4.

So here it is completed.

Q4 Finish Along Goals

It is time to set our goals for the last quarter of the year. The last quarter was a total bust. So some of last quarter's projects have made this list. Let's hope I can complete some of these projects and finish the year on a good note.

Here goes my list.

The first project is this Dresden plate table runner. This one was only blocks last quarter so there was some progress but  not enough.Just need to do the circles for the centres and I will be ready to pin and quilt it.

The second project is another table runner. I quilted this one over the weekend so it is ready for binding.

Project #3 is this one. Once I find it. I was looking for it yesterday because I had a piece of backing fabric left over from another project which I thought would work for it.  It has been sewn together and the borders added. Ready for pinning and quilting.

Project #4 is these leaf placemats. As you can see I have started the first one. That means I have 3 and a half to go. I think everyone else from the group has finished theirs or are nearly finished. I need to catch up. This is a technique I want to explore more.
