Once upon a Story Row Along- My Day



Here we are in the third week of this fantastic Row Along. A big thank you to Marian for organizing this annual event.This is the fifth year it havs been running. this year I love we have different size block we can work with. The quilts when made up could all be very different depending how one lays them out.
 We must thank all our sponsors  too as it wouldn't be the same without them, especially Northcott Fabrics for sending us all some fabric to use in our blocks.


My choice for this one is Rapunzel. I started with an applique idea which then took a turn to the left when I thought it would be a fun idea to do the block in a stitchery form. I took the most recognisable scene from Rapunzel, Rapunzel looking out the tower with her long hair draped down the tower.

I only used a couple of stitches a back stitch for the tower, dress and face and stem stitch for her hair.

Show and Tell Day

For me  my happy place is my growing orchard of fruit trees down the back of our yard. We are lucky to have a large block that allows me to have the space to grow some of my favourite fruits. It is a work in progress,  as I have planted two new trees this spring. I now have a pear, a peach, an apricot, two plums, a lemon and a cherry. So I had to feature it as my happy place.

 Download my instructions here and don't forget the Foundation paper pattern here. Then you can make my row and other rows for your quilt. I know that is my plan. I have selected a theme and I know there are a number of rows that fit my theme.

Of course we have to have a give away. It's so more fun if there is a chance to win something like fabric. Most companies are very good about getting prizes off to customers quickly also, but some companies are overseas, so please allow all sponsors a 2-week time period before you report to me that you still haven't received your prize. When the company is overseas, it can take 6 weeks to 90 days for an item to also arrive.
Whether or not you read the above, the rules for giveaways are in place to protect everyone. I do not want to hear you didn't read them, they will be posted on my blog daily during each featured day. There is no excuse for not reading them.

Jingle Bells- Christmas Caroling Row Along.

 It is my day in the Christmas Caroling Row Along. Marion from Seams to be Sew has done a great job put this event together.  Plus all the sponsors need a big thank you too.
