September's One Monthly Goal

It is time to select my goal for September. I had a look at my long list of unfinished projects.                     What is achievable for September was my first consideration?
Next what is close to a complete finish?

There is a number of projects that I could see the next step of the project completed, but I think I want a complete finish. I have a couple of small projects that need quilting, one is a retreat project that needs to be finished but I can't share any pictures. The same can be said about my Christmas Caroling Row Along row which will be revealed in a couple of weeks so both are not good for my One Monthly Goal but they need to be done.
This brings me back to last month's project, my Scrap Dance Tango table runner. I need to decide if I am putting a border around it and the quilt it. This is my September goal.

Do I make a border or not?

I have linked this post to Elm Street Quilts, pop over and join us or have a look at what everyone else will be working on this month.

August One Monthly Goal

Well what can I say! After a total failure of finishing July goal the same project is back for a second go. My Scrap Dance Tango Project.

Now there was some progress so technically I am closer to finishing than I was at the beginning of July. So I am set myself the same goal as last month. To get these blocks in to a top of some sort.
Let's hope I can achieve it this month.

I have linked this post up with Elm Street Quilts so pop over and check out what others are working on or join us.

Under the Pressure Foot #32

There are a few sewing jobs I need to do. Deadlines! Loaming over my head. I need to get on top of them before I sink. With a machine problem last week, I had to have my machine look at and it was returned to me on Friday. So with the other jobs done Saturday was my sewing day. Now I didn't have a whole day but a good 3/4 of the day.
Some work on this project. One block to make so I thought but now I am not sure if this is the correct layout or if I need to make more blocks.
The Gypsy Wife quilt was the other project I was working on.
It is starting to come together. The section I was working on.
I have now finished 5 sections so I am half way through the assembly.

350 Block Project 2016 - April's Report

This month's total is 30 blocks.

It has been a slow month for stitching. There always seem to be something else that needed doing keeping me away from the sewing machine. I did manage some English Paper piecing and made 6 hexagons for a sample project.

When I did get to the machine I made my 4 Christmas sampler blocks but that took a whole afternoon, plus some.

23 little Four Patch block got made for the need to sew something. There might have to be a scrap project in the making so I can use these up.

Lastly 1 Scrap Dance Tango block A got made 4 more yet to be made.

So my total for the month stands at 34.

350 Block Project- March's Report

This month total is 30 blocks.

More work on the Stash Bash projects. I finished Breezy Baskets off by sewing up the last  2 rows them joining the last 3 rows together with 2 borders, making it 7 for this one.

Some more work on Diamonds in the Breeze so for 14 more Windmill blocks and 14 diamond blocks. 5 rows sewn with 4 sashing strips and 2 borders for a total of 39.

The last eight Scrap Dance block finished. Now I have to sew all the blocks together and sewn into 5 rows, a total 13.

I also finished the last 8 blocks from February clue on the Scrap Dance Tango. Plus the 10 blocks for March are done. No Picture I swear I took the photos but I can't find them.

2 very large wonky blocks.

From Cotton Carnivale 2016 I have completed 2 octagon blocks, and a basket block.

Yes they are staples in my basket block. It is Leonie way of securing the basket to the background. I still need to remove them.

In the end I did all right for March with a total of 82.

350 Block Project 2016 -February's Report.

It is time for February 350 Block Project report. This month's total is 30.

No sewing in the first week of February but a lot of designing and pattern writing happened. With the Christmas Reproduction Sampler Block of the Month I am trying writing the block instructions before I make the blocks instead of making notes as I make the block then writing. So I have completed my 3 February blocks.

Plus I have pulled out my Scrap Dance project. The block components needed arranging into their order and then the blocks can be sewn together. This was a mystery quilt from last year and it is on my Project Uninterrupted list to completed. 11 blocks completed so far.

Next more work on the Stash bash project #1, the last row of blocks were joined together and then I sewed the 6 rows together and the 2 borders for a total 9. Plus it is finished.

Then there was the second Stash Bash project more blocks. I made 2 basket blocks and 8 windmill blocks. 10 more to the total.
I have started my blocks for the Scrap Dance Tango quilt along.so far 2 blocks completed.
This last week of February was not very good. I sure of made a few more blocks than I did but it is too late now.
February's total is 35 blocks.
My year total so far is 96 blocks.

Scrap Dance Tango #1

Now I have been a little slow starting this one. Scrap Dance Tango Quilt Along can be found on the      From My Carolina Home Blog and Carole is hosting us again after last year's Scrap Dance quilt Along. She is doing a great job looking after us even us that are a little slow off the mark.

This year I am doing things a little different as this is a scrappy project. I have selected one of the mixed off cut bundles I sell at Cynthia's Ark. They have at least a metre of fabric in variety of prints from a range. I want to see how big a project I can make from 1 bundle. I am starting at the smallest size Carole has given us, the table topper and I will see how far I get. Plus I have added a white for my light neutral.

So for the first step I needed to make a lot of half square triangle units with my neutral and my colours. That is a nice easy step 1. This is my first batch of half square triangle units, ready for trimming. More to do at a later time.

Step 2 uses some of the HST unit with a square to create these blocks and at this stage I need to make 10 of these units.

So I have made a start and it shouldn't take too long to make them up as I making them as I am chain piecing on special project. The first 2 blocks made, only 8 more to go. The plan is to be caught up by the time Step 3 is released next month. Fingers crossed, you know how easily I can be distracted.
