350 Block Project - December's Report

This is the last post for the 350 Block Project:2015 and we will be counting up all our blocks for the year to see how well we have done. Up to the end of November I was up to 521 blocks.

This month total is 30 blocks.
For a change I got a good start to the month with my Random Ohio Star quilt. I finished sewing the last 3 rows together then all the rows joined together. Finally adding the 2 borders to complete the top for 11.
I also made 33 of these little blocks for a new project.

Plus I started a new quick quilt sample for the shop and made 15 of these framed blocks. Plus sashing strips and 2 borders of total of 22.

There was also a matching table runner for a total with it 2 borders for 2.

Another new design using the Harrington range of fabrics. 25  Four patch blocks and  8 half square triangle blocks for a total of 33 blocks.

Also there is a stack 30 of blue and neutral four Patch blocks made up.

Two borders on my Grand Illusion quilt so 2 more.

I have turned twelve block into 3 small quilts for 4 more for my total.

Plus I have made 20 of these little blocks for the same project as the above blue and cream four patch blocks.

So my total for December is 157.
A good way to end the year. It helped that I started early and that I had the last 2 weeks off in December giving me extra sewing time.
The year's total is 678.
A very interesting exercise and one I would like to continue with in 2016.

350 Block Project - November's Report

This month Total is 30 Blocks.

What a slow start to November. The closest I got to sew in the first 2 weeks of November was I looked at my machine and thinking I should be sewing something. I cut some pieces for a new design ready for sewing but that is as far as I got. I know there has been lots on and I haven't been wasting time but I wish I had a little sewing time.
So in this time I have manage 2 borders on my Forget Me Not Sew Along project. Thanks for a hand piecing project or I would have nearly nothing to share this month.

Plus a baby panel cot quilt so there is 2 more my total.
.
Not a good month for sewing but I have cut fabric for 2 new quilts. Now I just need to find the time to do some sewing.
I did sew 2 of these units together to check my cutting instructions.

So my total for November is 6.
Oh boy I will be at the bottom this month. Worst month this year. With this lousy total in mind I am committed to have a better December. Let end the year with a bang. I know there is a couple sewing days planned between Christmas and the New Year.

350 Block Project October's Report

We have reached October already. This year is flying away. It is almost time to do a review on my 2015 To do list. I'm sure there will be a couple more crossed off my list before the year's out. In the meantime I better count up my blocks for the 350 Block Project.
This month's total is 30.

The last 10 Ohio Star block finally were completed. All the 6' stars were joined to a square.  Then I got to lay it out. 2 rows have been sewn together. 12 in total.

This project had a deadline I didn't make but I was the only one.

Plus the rest of my Hope Chest blocks 11 of them. Oops no picture.

My 2015 Batik Rainbow Sampler was sewn together for 9 once the rows were joined and 2 borders were added. No picture allowed at the moment.
On my Forget Me Not English Paper piecing project 6 more  half flowers were made and sewn on.
This make October total 40.

350 Blocks Project 2015- August Report

I got started early this month. Finally I am getting things moving again. The groove is back I think. Hooray just in time as there is deadline to meet. I am cutting it a little fine. The quilts are designed and fabric selected but I still need to make the quilts and write the patterns. The pressure is on. Fingers crossed I can get it done. sometime I need that deadline hanging over my head to get moving a little quicker.
This month's total is 30.

This month I have made some more Ohio Star blocks, 3 more.

Finished my last 3 blocks for the Little Joys Quilt Along and sewn all the blocks together 3 rows and borders. So a total of 7. All done.

I made 2 test blocks 1 successful and 1 failure. A redo for the failed block. Done. So 2.

I have been working on 2 quilts that are one patch quilts, so I only counted the rows.
The first one I can't show a picture yet. It is a special secret project for my Fully Stacked event but I can tell you there is 8 across and 10 rows down. 10 for this quilt.

The second one patch quilt is my Leaders & Enders Project for this year. It is a tumbler quilt. So far the total is 3 rows.

Another test block it belongs with the red, white and blue test block.

Plus a stack 4 patch blocks from a Fully Stacked project. It stands at 30 blocks.

As I have been doing well this month the next Fully Stacked quilt has been started with 9 blocks completed and row joined and sewn together for a total 20.

My total for the month is 76.

350 Blocks Project 2015- July's Report

I am starting to sound like a broken record. An impossible slow start to the month. Why can't I find any sewing time.
This month's total is 30 blocks.
So what did I get done.
I did some work on my Bitty Blocks May's Bear Paw blocks and making these blocks reminds me that one day I would like to make a Bear Paw quilt. May be I need to add this one to next year. All 18 Bear Paw blocks done. Now I better cut June's blocks.

I have done some work on my black and white hexagon quilt with the 3 large blocks now joined in a row.

My August block for our Batik Rainbow Fabric Club. No picture are the members haven't received their packs.

I started the Little Joys Quilt Along and I have completed 3 Christmas tree blocks and 3 wreath blocks.

Plus I started a new hand piecing project as my hexagon quilt is growing. This one is another Inklingo project but I am working with triangles, diamonds and octagons. A little different. 1 only so far.
We started the new Quiltville Leader and Ender Challenge to make a tumbler quilt. So far 2 rows completed.
I was making some Idaho Square dance blocks to fill in time before the new Leader and Ender Challenge started and there is  4 more completed I have been wondering what to do with these blocks and I think I have a place for them. It shouldn't take me long to put them together I just need another 9 blocks. Let's hope that will be enough. They are going to be one block wide runners to hide my plastic tubs when I do craft events.

July's Vacation Time The Hot Dog Stand is completed.

I had some playing with some fabric and created a table runner which has 5 blocks and 2 borders for a total of 7.

So the Grand Total for July is 40.
You know what this means I need to do some serious sewing soon or I am going to be in big trouble with a couple of deadlines.

I started with my Vacation time block.

4 More Idaho Square Dance blocks.

2 test blocks for an upcoming project, sorry no picture at the moment.

My Double Wedding ring bed runner got 6 more blocks.

8 large Ohio Star block finally got done. Now onto the small ones they are cut ready for sewing.

350 Block Project 2015- May's Report

This Month's goal is 30 Blocks.
Prairie Moon Quilts runs the 350 Blocks Project: 2015. It is a great challenge to record the year's quilting journey. It is like a monthly quilting diary and I wonder if I can collate the 12 monthly post for myself  for future reminiscing.  May's report for the 350 Blocks Project: 2105. Here we go.
What a slow start to May.  In the first 10 days on May I had managed 8 Four patch blocks.

Working at putting my Inklingo Stars together. 5 for the blocks going together into rows and 5 more for the rows being joined. Now for the borders. So that is 4 more for a total of 14.

Next I joined my lozenge quilt rows together so there is another 8 to the total and another quilt top for the quilting pile. I better plan a quilting weekend and finish a few of these or get them to my longarm quilting expert so she can quilt for me.

Sewing rows together has allow me to make some more Idaho Square Dance blocks as leaders and enders.       4 blocks completed this month.

A couple more hexagon flowers completed for my black and white hexagon quilt.

May Vacation Time block is completed.

3 x RSC Green blocks have also completed.

Plus I joined Christa's Paper Piecing Quilt Along to expand my paper piecing skills. A technique I really want to work on. So 1 more block to the total.
Plus 2 Windmill blocks from my Rainbow Batik Sampler.

I am happy to get this much done after such a slow start. Maybe June will have more sewing time in it.

The Month's total is 43.
