2017 Project Uninterrupted Project Round up.

We are coming to the close of 2017 and my Project list is still too long. So where did I get to this year with my list. Not enough by the look of things.

1. My  Inklingo hand piecing octagon quilt. 12 blocks made. This project was revamped to cross it off my list, they become mug rugs for Christmas gifts. This one is gone.

Unfortunately the rest of this list still need to be finished. They will automatically added to the 2018 list with anything else I have started and not finished.

2. My black and white hexagon quilt another Inklingo project. Halfway through. I have not touched this one everything is cut so I should do something with it.

3. Forget Me Not Sew Along EPP hexagon quilt. Up to Step #9 which is about 3/4 through the top. A little bit of progress but not enough as I haven't finished it. I think I better start using this project as my English paper piecing demo to see if I can move it along. This year's Dresden plate demo project is nearly ready for quilting so a replacement project is needed.

4. Allietare Mystery Quilt 2015. It is Bonnie Hunter's annual mystery quilt. This one I have been working on it in the sense of the unsewing I did to realign my blocks that I twisted. They were only twisted in the sense I used a directional fabric and I have to have them going the same way. The top is finally together and the backing made so it is ready for quilting.

5. Vacation Time 2015 Block of the Month. Halfway through the blocks. No progress here.

6. Bitty Blocks from Quiltmaker blog. I'm just over halfway through the blocks. I am wondering if I can do something else with these blocks.  I have started on some four patch blocks which will become sashing rows in between the block rows of this row by row quilt.

7. Paper piecing Quilt Along. I started this one hoping to improve my paper piecing I made 1 block and cut lots in preparation but couldn't find time to work on it. No progress here.

8. Craftsy 2015 Block of the Month I think I made 2 blocks. Kept meaning to cut the next blocks out but it never happened. This is block 1 no photo of block 2. Oh boy.  The projects from 2015 are haunting me as a write this post. This is #5 that I haven't finished from that year. No progress here, it will need to be reinvented as I give a friend some of the fabric she needed to finish a project. So we will see what I do.

9. My Pemberley Quilt. A block of the month started in 2016. Some progress but not enough so I will have to take a serious look at it.

10. The Shop's Octagon quilt was another block of the month program started in 2016. The blocks are done and I have started on the squares that fill in around the octagons. I need to work on the layout so I can start sewing them together. Some of the blocks.

11. My Tea Party Quilt. The blocks are completed and the sashing strips are cut, so I just need to sew everything together but I haven't touched it.

12. En Provence Mystery Quilt 2016- Mine is a smaller version of the original and I think there is still a few parts to make up before I can sew the top together.

14. My Reel It In Quilt which I started at the beginning of 2017. I have completed half a dozen blocks.

15. My Christmas Reproduction Sampler Quilt. All the blocks are completed but no progress this year on it.

16. Pat Sloan's Solstice Challenge which was suppose to help me use up some on of my batick scrap/stash. I have made 3 of blocks.

With all this down in writing, there was a number of projects that did get completed over the year and have been crossed off this list and a number of projects that never made this list as they have been completed with in the year.

Is it Time for a To Do List Update

That is what I have been thinking over the last week. I should have a look at my master unfinished Project list and see how far I have progressed since the last update.

Well you should have seen my face when I looked! The look of disappointment would have been clear. I couldn't believe the lack of progress. What have I been doing over the last few months. It is clear I haven't been sewing too much and when I have it has not been on any of these projects.

Really! This is not very good on my part even with me participating in a couple of online finishing challenges I am going nowhere fast. I think I need a good talking to or my hand slapped every time I consider starting something new. Do you think that would help? Probably not.

So on my list only one project has been crossed off recently and at least 3 new ones have been started. Plus the 2 projects I found that won't on the list, that need to be added.

My Scrapdance Tango Table runner completed.

I have started work on a couple projects on the list in attempt to complete more off this list.
There is a number of octagon blocks I hand pieced  that were going to be a larger project that now will be Christmas gifts. I can't says too much in case they read this post.

Plus I have a stack of small blocks for a Row Along quilt in my sight. I have started making Four patch blocks to go in between the rows as sashing.

So we will see what happens as there is one other project featuring the block below that needs to be finished in a week's time. At least to the top stage. I don't think I will be able to quilt it.

I better post this and head off to the sewing machine for an hour of sewing before today class, as that is all the sewing I will get today.

My Project Uninterrupted 2017 List Update.

We have reached May and I am wondering if I have made any real progress on my list. After two months with limited sewing time I fear progress has been left behind.

1. My Dahlia quilt. This one I have started but there was no progress on it in 2016.
This project had only just started and I have decided to scrap it and let the fabric be reabsorbed into my stash. Cross this one off the list.
2. My latest Inklingo hand piecing octagon quilt. 12 blocks made.
This one has seen a little progress made. I need to cut some more pieces so I can continue.
3. My black and white hexagon quilt another Inklingo project. Halfway through.
No progress yet this year. It isn't a big project so I should move it along. All the pieces are cut ready for sewing.
4. Forget Me Not Sew Along EPP hexagon quilt. Up to Step #9 which is about 3/4 through the top.
A little progress here too but still working on the same step.
5. Allietare Mystery Quilt 2015. It is Bonnie Hunter's annual mystery quilt.
No progress here.
6. Vacation Time 2015 Block of the Month. Halfway through the blocks.
No progress here. I am think the blocks will become a smaller quilt and the rest of the fabric will be returned to my stash.
7. Bitty Blocks from Quiltmaker blog. I'm just over halfway through the blocks. I am wondering if I can do something else with these blocks.
No progress here.
8. Paper piecing Quilt Along. I started this one hoping to improve my paper piecing I made 1 block and cut lots in preparation but couldn't find time to work on it.
No progress here.
9. Craftsy 2015 Block of the Month I think I made 2 blocks. Kept meaning to cut the next blocks out but it never happened. This is block 1 no photo of block 2. Oh boy.
No progress here but it will be a smaller project as I had someone who needed one of the fabrics to finish a project so I gave her most of what I had of that fabric, so she could finish her project.
10. My Victorian Fling Quilt is halfway through quilting this one. I think this will be my first finish for 2017.
This one has been completed!!!!

11. My Sew It Together Lucky - Handmade Quilt. It is ready for quilting.
This one is completed!!!

12. My Pemberley Quilt This is a Block of the Month so we will see where we get with this one.
Some progress on this one but I am thinking I may leave a few elements off to try to finish it sooner than later.
13. The Shop Octagon quilt This one is a 12 month fabric club so we are still collecting the months papers and fabric. Still plenty more to come.
Nearly all the blocks are made and I will be ready to start joining it all together soon.
14. My Tea Party Quilt. The blocks are complete and the sashing strips are cut, so the top is ready to be sewn together.
No progress here. I have looked at it a couple of times and thought if I could just have a couple of me sewing days I could get these block to a completed top stage.
15. This year Bonnie Hunter's En Provence mystery quilt. All the Clues have been released so now we can start assembling our blocks. Mine will be smaller so once I make up  some of the hourglass blocks I will lay out what I have.
Nearly all my blocks are completed but I still need a few more hourglass blocks.
16. My Reel it in quilt. I have only just started this one.
A couple more blocks completed.
17. My Hourglass Quilt is ready for quilting.
This one is completed!!!

18. I have started Pat Sloan's Solstice Challenge which we have only started. I want to use up some on my batik stash/ scraps.
A couple more blocks have been made.
19. My Christmas Reproduction Sampler Quilt. All the blocks are completed.
No progress here.
20. My Scrap Dance Tango project.
No progress here but it is only a small project so I might have to pull it out and see if I can complete it
21. My Star Wall hanging which is supposed to be a tutorial as everyone liked my original.
This one is completed!! It become a cushion.
This is not going in the right direction. Four projects completed and 1 scrapped. That still leave 16 projects on this list and I have 3 new projects started that if I am not careful will be added to this list. So I better hit the sewing room and do some work.
I do have a Facebook group where we work on our unfinished sewing projects trying to encourage and help each other to finish projects so we can start new ones. New members are welcome at Cynthia's Ark Project Uninterrupted

Time to get Organised

It is time to sort myself out and do thing better, more efficient, streamline jobs and generally get my head down and doing the jobs on my To Do List in the right order. Stop putting off jobs because I don't want to do them, stop doing the easy job first and so on. Last weekend in one of Sue Daley's talks she said look at your list and do the jobs that are going to make you money first. With my new To Do List pad I am going to set myself up for success.

There is lots of new stuff happening here at Cynthia's Ark with new fabrics, block of the month's, products, patterns and new classes being added over the next few weeks.  More details soon.
Plus the new website is up and running with a new look, so shopping from a mobile device should be easier now. There is bound to be a few teething problems, like I know some of my pictures are missing. Photo shoot session is on my list to help fix that when I do the new products.

Here is my To Do  List  for today. I hope I can make a dent in it.

Time to get to work. Don't forget tomorrow is Project Uninterrupted in the shop and in our Project Uninterrupted Facebook group. I hope to see some of you there.

2017 Project Uninterrupted To Do List

After reviewing 2016 I am at a loss that I didn't get more of these projects completed and the fact I have a load more to add to this list for 2017.

Let's Start with the ones left over from 2016.

1. My Dahlia quilt. This one I have started but there was no progress on it in 2016.

2. My latest Inklingo hand piecing octagon quilt.  blocks made.

3. My black and white hexagon quilt another Inklingo project. Halfway through.

4. Forget Me Not Sew Along EPP hexagon quilt. Up to Step #9 which is about 3/4 through the top.
5. Allietare Mystery Quilt 2015. It is Bonnie Hunter's annual mystery quilt.
6. Vacation Time 2015 Block of the Month. Halfway through the blocks.
7. Bitty Blocks from Quiltmaker blog. I'm just over halfway through the blocks. I am wondering if I can do something else with these blocks.

8. Paper piecing Quilt Along. I started this one hoping to improve my paper piecing I made 1 block and cut lots in preparation but couldn't find time to work on it.
9. Craftsy 2015 Block of the Month I think I made 2 blocks. Kept meaning to cut the next blocks out but it never happened. This is block 1 no photo of block 2. Oh boy.

10. My Victorian Fling Quilt is halfway through quilting this one. I think this will be my first finish for 2017.
11. My Sew It Together Lucky - Handmade Quilt. It is ready for quilting.

12. My Pemberley Quilt This is a Block of the Month so we will see where we get with this one.

13. The Shop Octagon quilt This one is a 12 month fabric club so we are still collecting the months papers and fabric. Still plenty more to come.

14. My Tea Party Quilt. The blocks are complete and the sashing strips are cut, so the top is ready to be sewn together.

15. This year Bonnie Hunter's En Provence mystery quilt. All the Clues have been released so now we can start assembling our blocks. Mine will be smaller so once I make up  some of the hourglass blocks I will lay out what I have.

16. My Reel it in quilt. I have only just started this one.

17. My Hourglass Quilt is ready for quilting.
18. I have started Pat Sloan's Solstice Challenge which we have only started. I want to use up some on my batik stash/ scraps.

19. My Christmas Reproduction Sampler Quilt. All the blocks are completed.
20. My Scrap Dance Tango project.

21. My Star Wall hanging which is supposed to be a tutorial as everyone liked my original.

Oh boy there is a lot of work here. I will have to start with the 3 closest to finishing I know I can get them done. The rest have a lot of work to complete. I think the key will be not to start anything new, but I am hopeless when a project takes my fancy. Plus I do have 2-3 projects  I have designed, but have not started yet. This year I will be busier than ever.

2016 To Do List Where did I end up with my projects.

It is the end of the year and it is time to complete 2016 To Do List and see what was completed and what needs to go on to 2017 Project Uninterrupted list.

1. My Dahlia quilt. This one I have started but there was no progress on it in 2015.
No progress except me looking at it sitting on the table.
2. Grand Illusion Mystery quilt. The has been completed and I am up to the quilting stage.
This one is completed.

3. My Aurifil block of the month from 2014. This quilt has become 3 small quilts as I am not happy how they look all together and are ready for quilting.
These 3 are completed.
4. Scrap Dance Mystery quilt. All the parts are made but I need to sew them into blocks.
This one has been completed.

5. My latest Inklingo hand piecing octagon quilt. Maybe 6 blocks made.
A couple more blocks completed. Lots still to do.
6. My black and white hexagon quilt another Inklingo project. Halfway through.
No Progress here except I did cut the next lot of hexagons out.
7. Forget Me Not Sew Along EPP hexagon quilt. Up to Step #9 which is about 3/4 through the top.
Definitely some progress but top not yet finished.

8. Allietare Mystery Quilt 2015. It is Bonnie Hunter's annual mystery quilt.
Blocks are done and a couple of rows have been sewn.

9. Quiltmaker's 2015 New Year's Mystery Quilt. Blocks are made.
This one is finished.

10. Vacation Time 2015 Block of the Month. Halfway through the blocks.
No progress.
11. Circle Chic quilt. I have decided I am going to baste the quilt with the circles in place and quilt them in place.
This one is completed. Completed picture coming in a separate post soon.

12. Bitty Blocks from Quiltmaker blog. I'm just over halfway through the blocks.

No progress

13. Paper piecing Quilt Along. I started this one hoping to improve my paper piecing I made 1 block and cut lots in preparation but couldn't find time to work on it.
No progress
14. Craftsy 2015 Block of the Month I think I made 2 blocks. Kept meaning to cut the next blocks out but it never happened. This is block 1 no photo of block 2. Oh boy.
No progress
15. My Victorian Fling Quilt which I had forgotten all about until I was looking for something else, which I didn't find.
Halfway through quilting it.

So in the end 7 projects were completed but there was a few more started and completed  and some started and not completed. You will be seeing them add to the 2017  list with the remaining projects from this list.
Unfortunately 6 projects not touched over the year, that is not good. This is the one that worries me the most. What to do with them?
Lastly 3 projects that have had some progress, though nowhere near completion. In my defence of these last 3 projects they are my hand piecing projects so progress will naturally be slower but really this slow. One didn't have a stitch sewn.  Tune in for 2017 To Do List I think it will be scary. To me at least.

Oh boy! Only 3 completed and there is still 12 more to go on this list. I think I have gone way off track this year. I better go and do some sewing. This is not how I thought my year of projects was going to pan out. I know there has been a number of completed projects but they are obviously new projects, not older ones. At least 3 have been ticked off this list. Time for some sewing.
