350 Block Project- July's Report

This month's total is 30 blocks.

Oh boy!!! Not a good sewing month.

I have finished my first block of my Pemberley Quilt.

Plus my three Christmas Sampler blocks for July.
One more section on my Forget Me Not Sew Along.

Lastly 2 Octagon blocks- only 1 picture due to me not being totally happy with the first one and  I am seriously considering redoing it. If I thought I could count it as 2 for the month I might of redone it already.

So this month's grand total is 7. Not very good and I don't know if August will be any better, looking at what is on the calendar. We will see what happens.

350 Block Project - June's Report

This month's total is 30 blocks.
I started with finishing some quilting and binding before swapping back to my 1/4" foot and back to block making and I must say I am feeling good to get 3 projects cleared away.
So where do I start.
More Scrap Crazy blocks this time controlled placement of fabrics is going to give a totally different look though the block layout is the same. It is all in the fabric. 16 blocks.

Three test blocks for the Christmas Sampler I needed to test the blocks for size. I didn't want to waste the Sampler fabric in case my measurements were out.

Once the the test blocks were correct I made my 4 blocks for this month.

Only 3 pictures, why have I missed 1 block. I don't know.

One test block for my next Stash Bash Sewing Party which is going to be scrappy. Well my scrappy.
 Secret at this stage.

Four octagon blocks for the All Over the Octagon Fussy Cutting Fabric Club.

My Scrap Dance quilt finally has the rows sewn together for 4 more to my total.

Along with my blocks from Quiltmaker 2015 New Year mystery quilt along are now a quilt top for 12 more.

So in the end the total is 44 for this month.

Sometimes you have to do the Boring Stuff

What does tell you about the last week here? Nothing real exciting happened and no sewing. The high light was receiving the latest fabric shipment from Millhouse Collections with some Sue Daley's current range Beaujolais for Penny Rose Fabrics and the All Over the Octagon patterns and fabric so we can start our 12 month Octagon adventure.

So besides unpacking the shipment I have been spending a lot of time on the computer doing the book work, designing my row for the "Road Home" Row Along, pattern writing and stuff totally unrelated to the business. The pattern writing has deadlines I need to meet and I seem to struggle with this part of the process, leaving it to the end. The last couple of times I have written the pattern as I have sewn the sample which seemed to help me get things done. The problem I have at the moment is I need to submit a draft of a pattern  by a certain date which won't allow me to sew and write the pattern as one. To add to my dilemma I have push myself out of my comfort zone and used techniques I don't use often.
So I am trying to write the pattern first this time.  Let's hope I don't make a totally fool of myself.
If you write patterns which way do you prefer to create your latest designs? If you have any tips please share them with us. You never know who you will help.
