Black and White is a classic combination. If you look around you are bound to see it somewhere.
Now I had some black and white hexagon flowers in my unfinished project box. A quilt that never went the way it was supposed to go.
These are easy to make using English paper piecing. Start with the centre hexagon and sew two rounds of hexagons for each large coasters. You could do one ring aounar the centre hexagon for a smaller coaster.
For the table runner I sewed three rounds and then a fourth round on two of them. Then sew on either side of the smaller flower. Followed by filling in the edges so the black running all the way around. Then I trimmed the sides up so they straight. Layout the batting put your backing fabric right side up, followed the pieced top right side down. Pin all three layers together. Sew a 1/4 inch all the way around leaving an opening. Turn right side out. Press and top stitch the opening closed and quilt.
Once I finish with them the coasters can be tucked in the middle and it folds up nicely to be put away.
Just like this. I even used black and white on the back.
Keep Stitching

Beautiful EPP projects!
Beautiful table runner and coasters!
So pretty.
These are so beautiful! I have never quite gotten the hang of those little pp hexagons, but you made them look so easy. Love them in the black and white!
What a pretty set. English Paper Piecing is one of my favorite methods and this looks like a very manageable project. Love it in black and white. Thank you, so much for joining the B&W blog hop. Such a great idea!
That is so clever and I love how it all folds up together. The pop of red is so pretty in the centers too.
This is a wonderful idea. This will be a fun table runner for anytime of the year. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. quilting dash lady at comcast dot net

Rounding off hexies. What a brilliant idea. Love it!
I'm seeing so many EPP today and I really need to give it a try. Your coasters and runner are so beautiful. I may start with something small like that.
Very nice hexi project! They made for a very nice runner.
What an interesting idea for the Black and White Blog Hop!! Enjoy your new table runner.
Lovely table runner and coasters. Some of my favorite projects to make. Thanks for sharing today.
Pretty table runner and coasters.

Nice hexie project! I love the pop of red in the centers! Thanks for sharing!
I love hexagons, as you can see on my blog. And this is a great way to use them. I agree, quilts are taking their own way, always. And often end up different from what you thought when you started them.
What great ideas for a runner and coasters. Love the black and white!

Great set, would make a wonderful gift. The red really makes the other hexies pop.
What a wonderful table runner and coasters!! I really like how you can fold them all up together so nothing gets lost when they are in the cupboard!
Adorable coasters and the pop of red is wonderful! Thanks for joining the hop and sharing your wonderful projects.
Gosh those are very nice. It’s a very creative idea. The pop of red is great.
Very nice! I love seeing how creative everyone has been during this blog hop!
I have come to like black and white with a touch of red. You make it all look fun and easy. Your addition to the hop is wonderful.
Cynthia, what a great way to use your orphan blocks! The runner with the coasters will make a great table setting.
Great way to use up blocks that didn't go that right way. I love EPP but would never have the patience to do it.
So pretty! Thanks for sharing.
Great use of orphan blocks and what a pretty table setting it will be. Thanks for sharing.
