2018 - 350 Block Report - September

Here we are in September. What did I make this month.

My Welcome to my House Wall hanging. I have only counted the rows in this total of 8 as most of the blocks come from another project.
My four block row from the My Happy Place Row Along.

A Triangle Frenzy Rescue from a Student that wasn't happy. I put it together why waste it.
The four applique borders on the quilt on the left.

That means for September a grand total of 17 blocks. Bring on October I have the Project Uninterrupted retreat to attend so maybe I can reach the October goal. That again I may not as I am in charge.

September One Monthly Goal Complete

My plan was to finish this one for my display at the Australian Machine Quilting Festival.
You will find the original post here.

I know I sometimes need a deadline to finish stuff, but this one was pushing my limits. The week of the event and I have only 2 borders completed and ready to go on.

So we get to the day of setup and an evening preview session for the students and special guests and I still need to finish the other two borders and get them on the quilt. I had already admitted it will not have the binding on it but if I could get the final two borders on I could get by.

But here it is hanging at the Festival.
I have link this post with Elm Street Quilts post, so you can pop over and check out the finishes.

Show and Tell Day

For me  my happy place is my growing orchard of fruit trees down the back of our yard. We are lucky to have a large block that allows me to have the space to grow some of my favourite fruits. It is a work in progress,  as I have planted two new trees this spring. I now have a pear, a peach, an apricot, two plums, a lemon and a cherry. So I had to feature it as my happy place.

Download my instructions here and don't forget the Foundation paper pattern here. Then you can make my row and other rows for your quilt. I know that is my plan. I have selected a theme and I know there are a number of rows that fit my theme.

Of course we have to have a give away. It's so more fun if there is a chance to win something like fabric. A big thank you to Moda who have supplied us with this beautiful, I must have prize that I would love to win, but I am out of luck for this one. Plus don't forget to visit Marian Blog for more giveaways.

Please take the time to read it.
Giveaways offered by sponsors are assigned to the various bloggers for their featured day.
There are no prior announcements on who is doing which sponsor except to the sponsor themselves.
You'll have to visit the blog or the featured blog to enter the giveaways.
Not all giveaways can be entered at Seams To Be Sew.
I will start announcing winners on September 11, 2018, and finish announcing winners on October 10, 2018.
In most cases, the blog where you won at also will announce their
winners.
You must give a valid email address when you enter the giveaways, any email returned to me, loses the ability to win automatically.
With the exception of Show and Tell Day, all giveaways run for approximately one week.
You are given 3 days to answer the email, if you do not answer within 3 days a new winner will be drawn. Check those spam/junk mail folders, you may miss that winning email if you don't do so because there are no exceptions to this rule.
If you are notified that you are a winner, in most cases, you will need to provide your name, address, city, state, zip code, country, telephone number, and email address.
In some cases, you will be asked to comment on the blog to enter the giveaway... do the right thing and thank them for the time it took to create the pattern, thank them for the pattern and...
Thank the sponsor by buying their products for the giveaways. This helps them continue to offer great prizes for these types of events. You can also comment on their social media pages. Even if you don't win, letting them know you love their products is a huge incentive and they really do love hearing from you.
No purchase whatsoever is necessary.
You must be 18+ in order to win a gift.
You are responsible for claiming and paying any tax owed on the value of any gift that you win. Prizes valued at $500.00 should be claimed.

Odds of Winning a prize are based on a total number of rafflecopter entries during each week and in total for all giveaways.
This giveaway is void where prohibited by law.
Participating bloggers may enter any of the giveaways.
The word giveaways in the rules and guidelines are also known as sweepstakes.
Most of the giveaways are international shipping this year
in some cases, you will be asked to pay for shipping your giveaways.
I am not rich and I do not ask sponsors for money, they provide prizes only.
If they shipped the prize to me, you will be asked to pay for shipping.
All giveaways will be shipped that are in my home within 48 hours of my having heard from you.
An invoice will be sent to you via Paypal, and shipping will take place via Paypal, so your Paypal email will be needed to send the invoice. You will receive a tracking number except for overseas shipments. All shipping will either be first class which averages out at 2.77 to 4.00 up to 13 ounces. Paypal fees are added to that amount to cover that fee. All fabric bundles from Michael Miller, Hoffman, and Moda will be shipped via Priority Mail to protect the fabric itself.
Please note, every effort is made to protect the prizes. They go into a plastic bin when I receive them, and it is covered by an air tight cover. I have a dog in my home and I have a smoker in my home, so I do everything possible to protect the prizes.
Most companies are very good about getting prizes off to customers quickly also, but some companies are overseas, so please allow all sponsors a 2-week time period before you report to me that you still haven't received your prize. When the company is overseas, it can take 6 weeks to 90 days for an item to also arrive.
Whether or not you read the above, the rules for giveaways are in place to protect everyone. I do not want to hear you didn't read them, they will be posted on my blog daily during each featured day. There is no excuse for not reading them.

Don't forget to check out all the blog posts on our My Happy Place Blog Hop. I am.

Triangle Frenzy Workshop

In store on Saturday we held the Triangle Frenzy Workshop.
I was the subtitute teacher as the teacher that was taking the class was not well. It was a good thing that I had a good at the pattern ahead of time, so I didn't have to wing. I had a great group of ladies, that excelled in this workshop. They were able to complete one table runner each. No UFO's were created in this workshop. These were the fabrics selected for their table runners.

Here are the finished table runner. They are amazing.

They are all so beautiful. I am so proud of these ladies that they all got gold stars and an couple of early minutes. If you missed out on this one and you want to join us to make one, call the shop and book yourself in to a Essential Basics Workshop (generally the fourth Saturday of the month), telling me you want to make the Triangle Frenzy Table Runner.

September's One Monthly Goal

It's time to set September goal. I have three projects I need to finish this month. All three have deadlines during the month. Two are secret projects, so it makes it hard to share here. The third project is not a secret so that is the one I have chosen for my goal this month. It is my Honeycomb Quilt using the Westalee Designs Honeycomb template. I have completed 3 blocks, there is only 1 more block to complete.

The three completed blocks. The last block won't take me long to finish, then to finish it off. The fact the blocks have technical been quilted my theory is they won't take long to put them together and finish the quilt for the 19th September. That's the deadline for this project.
I have linked this post to Elm Street Quilts post with everyone else who has set a goal. Check out what everyone is up to this month.

2018 - 350 Block Report August

I am way behind where I need to be, so I need to make a lot more.
Three honey comb block

One Folk Flower block.

Two Evergreen block done.

Two table runner which I have taken as 2 block.

One super sized block
Two Improv Star block

This months total is 11  for me. Am I going backwards this year? I feel like I am.
I did make 12 quarter blocks which I haven't counted in this month's total as I need to make all the quarters before I sew them together. Hopefully it will boost a monthly total in the near future.
