Color it Red Blog Hop

Here we are gathered together around for the Color it Red Blog Hop. Thanks to Carol from Just Let Me Quilt for hosts us. Red is the natural colour for February as Valentine Day is in it and for me in South Australia it is Summer so we often have scorching hot days. So I was thinking I may need a colour themed wall hanging I could hang out for the month of February. Hearts were first to pop in to my mind for the project but I found a couple of red and white prints in my stash that was screaming out to me to use. So for some unknown reason the hearts went out the window and I ended up with this simply layout with the two fabrics.

A close up of the two fabrics. Yes only two fabrics cut into 3 inch squares. Why don't I have more of that red stripe in my stash? That's right I have used it a couple times now.

Then I added a small red border to the top and bottom from the red stipe cut the other way, followed by a piece of the red and white print larger piece at the top and a smaller piece at the bottom.
More red and white on the back some simple quilting hanging sleeve and binding to complete my latest wall hanging.

All the fabrics came from my stash, I don't quite believe I had that much red in my stash but I got there. It's quick and easy project to make and you could make a few different one to hang at different times of the year.

Here is the list for the whole blog hop. So pop around and say hello and check out what everyone has made.
