It's my day on the Witchy Stitchy Blog Hop. I have had some fun with this one. I can see me taking the next step with these blocks and turning them in to a full size quilt in the future. I even have a name for the quilt. I better add it to my project list. A big thank you to Carol for hosting us for this one. She does a fantatic job organising us and keeping us on track. Here is the schedule.

Words & Stitches
I have made a wall hanging for my project. Halloween isn't as big here in Australia like it is elsewhere, but I think it is growing. Even on me. Some of the Halloween stuff It will be interesting to see how much it grows over the next few years. As a owner of two black cats and my husband has at times called me a witch lol.
Plus I have been known to say Didn't you see me ride in on my broom this morning when I have been in a mood. So I think I fit in well here.
Anyone that knows me already knows there is a black cat featured somewhere, so here it is. My wallhanging is ready to hang for Halloween.
I string pieced my pumpkins so I could use up some of batik scraps but it would be great as one piece and the cat could be any colour you like. I did consider using some cat fabric for the cat but decided to stick to the batik scrap box.

Then I snowballed the corners to create the pumpkin, then added the stalk to finish the pumpkin block.
The cat block was easy enough too with just two fabrics. I am still wondering if I need to add a face to my kitty cat.
Until Next Time
Keep Stitching

Great Wall hanging! Love the fabrics you used for your pumpkins and I loved the black kitty. I think he’s cute without a face. Makes me think he’s sleeping. Spooktacular job!
ReplyDeleteI really like the striped pumpkins, and I think the cat is fine as is. Great project!
ReplyDeleteBlack cats and pumpkins are a perfect way to celebrate Halloween. I love how you made those pumpkins...thanks for showing us that! I think the cat is fine as it is, but you have to love it so add eyes if it makes you smile. Thank you so much for hopping in the Witchy Stitchy blog hop all the way from Australia!

Your wall hanging is perfect for October and in 6 months it will be great for your autumn as well!

As a past owner of cats maybe yours is just doing his cat thing and not facing the camera therefore you have actually captured his essence. Or not. Love the hanging both the pumpkins and the ornery kit.
ReplyDeleteLove how you made the pumpkins!! Would look great as a whole quilt! Thanks for sharing this project! xx
