For my project this time I had two ideas swirling around in my head. So my plan was to make some of the blocks and then decide which way I go.
With a test block made, something wasn't right. Oh boy! I made a cutting error, cut 2" instead of 2 1/2" a good thing I didn't cut them all out. Once I cut another set I was all good.

So in my head I had rows of multi coloured diamonds sashed together into a quilt. The other idea was to make a Lone Star table topper.  It has been a long time since I made a Lone Star project. As you can see the Lone Star won out this time.

I then was wondering if I should make 4 blocks and sew them together for a quilt or just leave it at 1 block for a table topper.  In the end it was a table topper that won out.
Now I just had to quilt and binding it, but I hestiated. Does it need a  border or two? I left it sitting on my table for  a few days to think on it.

Now because I couldn't decide, it means I didn't get to quilt and bind it but I do love it even more once I added the borders.
A little close up for you.

I hope you are enjoying all the projects featured in this blog hop.
Until Next Time

  5. What a beauty! So I have never made a lonestar but often think I would like to however most I have seen have several colors but I like that you have only 3. So you didn't piece strip sets and then cut on the diagonal but did individual diamonds? Also trying to figure out how you added the black. Did you have a pattern or is this your own? I would love a detailed tutorial!!!
